The Hyde Park & Kenwood Interfaith Council supports a case manager to offer case management work at two locations. Their services include a listening ear and practical help for clients, including addressing issues related to housing and health care, job opportunities, and life skills.
Meet the HPKIFC case manager, Devonte Appleton:
Hello, my name is Devonte Appleton. I am born and raised on the south and west sides of Chicago, IL. I have recently graduated from the Hunger Free America (HFA) social services program for SNAP recipients. The Greater Chicago Food Depository partnered with HFA to have the training at their location. During my training, I did my on-the-job placement training at the Kenwood UCC Soup Kitchen. KUCC has welcomed me with open arms. I’m looking forward to a bright future here.
Mr. Appleton is present at the Kenwood United Church of Christ Soup Kitchen (4600 S. Greenwood) on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9 am – 3 pm.
